Packaging Design- What we need from you before we get started

Let’s talk about packaging for a second ! This includes shipping boxes, product labels, shipping bags, packaging boxes. These items are all part of The Deluxe Dreamers Package, so if you’ve been thinking about engaging in this package for your new branding, here are some important things we’ll need from you before we get started…

1. Templates for shipping boxes and packaging boxes.

You should be able to get these from your packaging supplier and are usually an Illustrator file or PDF of an outline of the exact size and shape of the box you’ve ordered. These are also called Dielines in the design world. Having these on hand, allows us to get straight into the design without us stressing about getting the size right to fit your products. Also, often manufacturers have set dielines for the packaging that they offer, so they wouldn’t accept one that we’ve made ourselves.

2. Sizing for product labels.

You’ll need to let us know the sizing of your product labels that would say for example go onto your skincare bottles. You’ll also need to consider things like, will this is be a transparent label? Will it actually be a print directly onto a bottle? All of these things need to be communicated in order to get the design specifications correct for your supplier and reduce back and forth.

3. Product Information.

This includes ingredients, how to use, product cautions and usually feature on the box and actual product labels. These need to be prepared before we create your packaging design so we know what’s going where on the artwork.
